Kelly is a very good friend that I have had since High School.  I’ve known Ryan for a couple of years now and I adore them both!  Kelly and I planned our weddings along side each other and were each others sounding boards through the entire process!

The day started off at Ryan’s parents home in Rancho Bernardo.  The woman in the mirror is a former bride of mine, who just celebrated her 2nd wedding anniversary yesterday!

After the bulk of the photos, we headed to Bernardo Winery.

Ryan is an amateur photographer and each table had one of his travel photos on it!

I’ve decided that a 4 part blog is the best way to split this up!  Welcome to Part 1! 

I was on a workaction (work + vacation) last week in Australia!  I had a great oppurtunity to travel with my good friend and colleague Brenda Swann.

Brenda was already down under when I flew in to Melbourne on the 14th of April.  Her good friend Jane lives there and she was a great hostess, showing us around the city the first few days!  Below is an awesome alley we passed and I couldn’t help grabbing a few shots of the ladies!

We went to The Esplanade Hotel and I got this cool shot of the chandelier!

These are Beach Boxes in Brighton, just outside the city.  They are little shacks that locals purchase (for a lot of $$) so they can have some place to retreat in the Summer while visiting the beach!  It seems you can also store your boat in them.  You can read a little more about them here. This was probably my favorite thing to shoot, I wish I could have done a session here!

Our last day in Victoria, we drove along the Great Ocean Road (see the rainbow?).  We made some stops to check out the gorgeous view!

This stop was at the Split Point Lighthouse located in Airey’s Inlet

and Eagle Rock, by the lighthouse (you can see the shadow of the lighthouse in the water!)

Our final stop before heading to Geelong was outside of Lorne, at Erskine Falls.  Jane took this of me and Brenda!

Well, that was the first few days of my trip!  Next up:  Engagement shoot from Sydney!

Just before I left on my trip, I met up with the awesome Megill family at Old Poway Park.  The mother, Janet is a very good friend of my mother’s!  They worked together at Mira Costa College for many years.  I’ve known this family for probably half my life! 

Their daughters, Holly and Kristin are both happily married to great men.  Holly and her husband Jon are expecting their second child this year!  Hope is the little one you see below

I am loving Australia!  I am currently in Sydney and have one full day left before we head back to the US.  Here is a quick shot with my point and shoot camera of me with the Opera House.

Eve and I met online about 2 years ago!  She is a fabulous local wedding coordinator here in San Diego!

She recently updated her website and needed some new headshots to show off!  We met up at Balboa Trails to shoot with some yummy light!

Somebody’s been watching their ANTM!

At the end of the shoot, Eve’s hubby and son showed up and we grabbed a few shots!

I had so much fun laughing with you, Eve, its always a good time!  Can’t wait to work with you at a wedding soon!

I will be out of the country April 12-21!

I am headed to Australia with my good friend Brenda Swann.  We will be in Melbourne and Sydney and possibly Tasmania, although the last part is still up in the air depending on cost and time restraints! 

I am going to try to get to my email every few days, but please be patient with me, response time will be much slower!

I’ll have plenty of amazing photos to post when I get home!

PS Happy Easter!

This past Sunday I met Jennie and Jason up at my favorite Temecula Winery, Wilson Creek.  I’m a former employee, so I have my loyalty there.

J&J were married this past November and although I was not their wedding photographer, I was so honored to be able to shoot some awesome portraits for them!

H-O-T!

Wilson Creek has a brand new building they use for weddings and it is phenomenal!  If you are planning a wedding in Temecula, go check them out!

The grapes/leaves aren’t blooming this time of year, but we couldn’t leave without a visit to the vines!

We jumped back in the car and headed south to Escondido to catch the last of the light!

Thanks you two for being such great models! You two know how to work it!

This past Saturday I met up with my good friends Kelly and Ryan to shoot some photos to put in their engagement album.  

They are getting married in just 19 days!  I am so excited for them!  We had a fun time exploring NTC Liberty Station.
