Destination Weddings Archive

In January, Jason and I had the pleasure to photograph the destination wedding of Brad + H. I had met these two at their engagement session in San Diego and was really looking forward to spending time with them in Paradise. Turns out, they had a ton of amazing friends and family members that we got to know as well! The days leading up to the wedding, they had activities for everyone to participate in. A welcome BBQ, a sunset cruise and the resort even had them plant their own tree! It was a blast capturing all these moments before the wedding day.

This wedding was quite different for me! I’m used to warm climates and shooting outdoors – the polar vortex didn’t allow either so we had to get creative! Luckily Rob + Aurora are total troopers and had no problem with me dragging them outside twice for portraits! This was my very first New Years Eve wedding and it was so fun to watch the balloon drop at midnight!

I absolutely love intimate weddings. Even more so when I’m the only witness! Larissa + Christopher traveled from the chilly Midwest to elope in Palm Springs. Larissa has such an amazing laugh and Christopher is the best at making her do it! She even helped redesign a silk organza slip from the 1890’s into her beautiful wedding dress. Stunning! In the beginning of their relationship, Scott lived in Chicago and he and Jennifer did the long distance relationship thing. They spent a ton of time getting to know each other around Scott’s neighborhood. What a perfect choice to shoot their photos in Chicago – we even went to the bar they had their first Chicago date (and promptly got kicked out – haha)!
