Fullerton Arboretum Wedding – |Taylor + Mary Kate|

I’m so excited to share this beautiful Fullerton wedding! It was featured on The Overwhelmed Bride blog so hop on over there to see some more photos from the event! Mary Kate and Taylor had a wedding that celebrated their Irish heritage. Family is so important to them – and that was prevalent during the day. Taylor’s son is a huge part of their life and quite the dancer! It was a gorgeous, warm day that I love reliving through the photos!

Happy New Year – A look back at 2017!

2017 was an interesting year for me. With the highest high (my wedding) to some really low-lows within my personal and family life. Overall it was a really tough year. But putting this collage together today, looking at all of my smiling couples I am reminded how much joy my job brings me. To be there on one of the happiest days of someones life. To celebrate their nerves, the first kiss, that walk down the aisle as husband and wife…and so many more precious moments. It’s sometimes hard to believe how lucky I am that I can make a living off a passion. I get to travel the world and meet so many new and interesting people. Hear their stories, sometimes even shed a tear with them. Life is fleeting. I like to sit in these moments of joy and reflect on what truly matters. For me, that is spending time with my loved ones, sharing a meal with a new friend, reading an engrossing novel, mentoring a budding photographer and watching them get it.  Overall just connecting with the human race. My wish for you in the new year is to find those moments of pure bliss and savor them. Go after them. Capture them in your heart, mind or even on camera. Cheers to a fresh new start.

Cactus Garden Balboa Park Wedding – |Joaquin + Jess|

This was a shorter wedding for me, but no less special. I’ve known Jess through my best friend for years. We were Facebook friends and met each other casually but I didn’t really get to know her until she was getting married. Now I can’t imagine not having her in my life! He upbeat attitude, heartwarming smile and kick ass baking skills are just part of what I love about her! And Joaquin is such a good balance for her! Calming, kind and funny! They make quite the power couple! I was thrilled to be able to cover their ceremony and portraits on their wedding day. They were married in the Cactus garden area of Balboa Park which I only discovered recently and am fully obsessed with!

Olowalu Plantation House Wedding, Maui – |Brianna + Brandon|

Brianna + Brandon had one of the funnest and most outgoing personalities of any of my clients. These two love to have FUN. And I wanted to show that in their images. Their dance party was off the hook – the floor was packed the entire night with B+B right smack dab in the middle. They wanted a vintage laid-back Hawaii wedding and Cherise with The Perfect Maui Wedding really delivered. My favorite detail? The huge Love sign right on the shore!

Oh and extra cool bonus points – this wedding was featured on Every Last Detail today. How lucky am I?

Carlsbad Elopement Photographer |Kevin + Tina|

I met Tina two years ago when she came to me for some photos of herself. She was jumping in to the world of online dating and wanted nice and professional images to share on Match.com. Well, shortly after she posted the photos she got a message from a handsome, tall gentleman named Kevin who told me that it was her photos that drew him to her. You guys! How cool is this?! I was a teeny part of their love story and that makes the romantic in me scream from the rooftops! Of course I was thrilled when they asked me to be part of the next chapter – their elopement! They were married earlier in the day and we met up that evening for some portraits around their neighborhood!
