Traveling has been a passion of mine since I got my first passport at 6 months old (no joke!) I sat on my moms lap and made gaga sounds at the photographer. I started traveling alone at age 6 to visit my Aunt in Missouri every Summer. I haven't stopped since. Where I go, my camera follows. I love experiencing new places and capturing each one in my own way.
Sarah contacted me a few weeks prior to their New Years Eve ceremony at the San Diego Courthouse. It was the busiest I had ever seen it there – everyone wants to get married on that date. 😉 After a late start, they had a short and sweet ceremony followed up by some portraits down by the water. I loved her bouquet (a TessFresh original) and her hairpiece!
I thought I would follow up Troy + Heather’s gorgeous Honua Kai wedding with their trash the dress session! We met up the day after the wedding and I took them to some of my favorite spots on the island! They were totally up for jumping in the water too – love it!
Heather + Troy had a beautiful intimate ceremony at one of my absolute favorite hotels – the Honua Kai just north of Lahaina in Maui. Everything went just right that day – with Cherise from The Perfect Maui Wedding, how could it not? Â I’m ready to be back there, right now!

The Darker Shade of Grey – Dark & Dangerous

Â Sara with So Chic Events totally rocked the details in this inspiration shoot! Â I mean, can you believe the attention to detail with the leather and even the handcuff wine charms! Â So fun to be a part of this!
The Lighter Shade of Grey – Love & Light
My good friend Sara of So Chic Events sent me a text message one day and told me about an idea she had for a photoshoot and how she wished I lived closer so I could shoot it. Â I loved the idea so much – I made that happen! Â I flew out to Central Illinois to photograph this. Â Thankfully, the awesome group of vendors were able to work around my travel schedule! Â Sara really made this book come to life. Â With the popularity of the novels by E.L. James, I was shocked no one had actually done an inspiration shoot like this! Â Now we know the chances of someone actually having a 50 Shades wedding is quite slim, but it was so great to see Sara’s vision come to life and be able to capture it for her!
