Long Beach Engagement – |Julie + Matt|

I’ve known Julie through my industry for years! I had always heard about the elusive Matt from Long Beach but wasn’t sure what to expect. Turns out he is super rad and make Julie laugh louder than I have ever heard her laugh. Which warms my heart of course. I’m excited for these two to start the next chapter in their relationship! We decided to shoot in Long Beach, starting in the exact spot they met – The Yard House! We ended up sipping beers at Ballast Point and being treated to the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen in awhile!

La Jolla Scripps Forum wedding – |Andy + Elise|

I literally squealed with delight when I saw the gorgeous blush details at this wedding. And top it off with a very sweet and caring bride and groom and killer vendor list – dream day for sure!

I’m so thrilled that Every Last Detail blog chose to feature this wedding today. Check out some more images (some different too!) over on their blog!

Golden Colorado Elopement – |Kate + Thad|

This elopement is a special one as Kate is my college roommate and very close friend! There was no way I was missing this celebration! Kate was never a traditional girly-girl and wanted something unique and fun for her wedding to Thad. They said this vows on a snowy hilltop surrounded by family. Ate a tasty brunch with a larger group of friends and family and ended the day with a brewery and distillery tour with the group! It was the perfect way to show their love for each other and the finer things in life – drinking! <3

Reception Location: Jill’s Restaurant, Hotel St Julien
Breweries Visited: Twisted Pine, Upslope Brewery
Distillery Visited: Vapor Distillery

Bali Hai, Shelter Island Wedding – |Michaela + Stuart|

This was one of those rare weddings where I didn’t meet the couple prior, since they live in Northern California! I actually didn’t really have much communication at all, since their amazing planner Courtney from After the Engagement had everything under control! It was kind of fun, getting to know them that day and learning their fun personalities! Michaela was the epitome of calm. Playing with her pup, laughing with her girls. She was classy and collected. I loved her non traditional dress and bright red bouquets! And of course you know I was obsessed with her red lips!

During the ceremony, it started to sprinkle which with most couples, might freak them out. But these two were thrilled and it took it as a sign of Stuart’s late mother giving her blessing. Stuart also surprised Michaela with the wedding band she lusted after but was told she couldn’t have. I loved knowing the surprise was coming and seeing her shocked reaction.  The entire day was laughter, joking around and lots of beautiful light!  Ceremony + Reception Venue: Bali Hai Restaurant
Photographer: Melissa McClure Photography
Wedding Planner: Courtney, After the Engagement
DJ: Matt Phipps, Choice Entertainment
Photobooth: Union Photobooth
Florist: Flowers of Point Loma
Makeup: Beauty by Gerine
Cake: European Cake Gallery

Coronado Sunset Surprise Proposal – |Shayna + Jon|

This was a special one for me – Jon and I have been colleagues and friends for more years than I can count! He booked me months in advance to be sure I could photograph his proposal to Shayna! I had never met Shayna before, so it made it that much easier to stalk them. Luckily she didn’t notice the strange woman with a camera standing behind them! Jon told Shayna that they were attending a friends vow renewal (hence the gift bag in his hand – cleverly hiding her ring) so there weren’t any questions about walking on the beach!

After what seemed like an eternity, Jon got down on one knee and proposed to the love of his life! I won’t lie, tears were flowing from the photographer. 😛
